Lovech (Bulgarian: Ловеч) is a town in north-central Bulgaria a district centre of Lovech region. It is close to the towns of Troyan and Pleven. Lovech is the administrative centre of Lovech Province and of the subordinate Lovech municipality.
Climate:
The climate in Lovech region is humid continental with cold winter and hot summer. The average annual air temperature is 11.4°С. The annual temperatures are characterized with a minimum in january (-1.5°С) and a maximum in july (23°С). The average daily air temperatures define the typical for the humid continental climate temeprature amplitude of 24.5°С.The average relative humidity is 61% in august up to 84% in december. The maximum is during the winter when the temperature of the air are minimum.
Precipitation:
The average precipitation in the region is 636mm with a maximum in May, June and July (77-95). During the winter the precipitation is mostly of snow with 10-12 sm. Depth of the snow blanket.
Winds:
The average month and annual speed of the wind is comparatively low – from 1.3m/sec. in July, September and November up to 1.8m/sec. In February, March and April. The winds are mostly North-Eastern, Western and Southern.
Lovech is one of the 100 national tourist objects of the Bulgarian tourist union.
