Vratsa

      Vratsa is a city in Northern Bulgaria. It is an administrative centre of Vratsa Province and Vratsa municipality. It is 112 km away north of Sofia, 40 km southeast of Montana, and 14 km northwest of Mezdra. Vratsa is the biggest town in Northwestern Bulgaria. The city is situated at the foot of Vrachanski Balkan (Part of the Stara Planina mountain, near Vratsa) and it is 370 metres above the sea level.

       The climate is humid continental with average annual temperature in January is 1,9 ° С and in July - 22,2 ° С. During the spring – in April the temperature grows rapidly and the weather becomes very warm and nice. The most high temperatures are in July and August.

Vratsa connects to the villages and city within the region and throughout the country by bus and railway transport. There are regular bus lines to Sofia, Pleven, Vidin, Montana, Kozloduy, Oryahovo, Mezdra (at short intervals), as well as to the smaller villages, scattered around the city. The bus station is located on the way between the railway station and the centre of the city.
